America is a nation of joiners and fraternal organizations played a big part in American lives. Many records were created from memberships in these groups, and those records may open doors for your family history. This workshop explores the who, what, when, where, and how of fraternal societies and their records.
Ron was born in Wheeling, WV, and grew up on a farm at Triadelphia, WV. He lived for a while in Cleveland, OH and graduated from Kent State University. Ron has lived in Indianapolis since 1971 and is retired from the Indianapolis Public Schools as a Supervisor. He also retired from the Indiana National Guard as a crew chief on an F-16.
Ron is an avid genealogy enthusiast. He is an active member of the Indiana Genealogical Society where he heads up various lineage societies including the Society of Civil War Families of Indiana and the Ancestors of the Territorial Guard Society of Indiana.
