Brian Mundall will speak on some of our local and Indiana heroes and their memorabilia in the museum, as well as some of the history regarding some of the museum pieces.  His knowledge and dedication to preserving our historical past is evident in his present museum.  The museum is unbelievably large and well organized with simulated set ups.

Brian has always been interested in WWII since elementary grades and he credits his grandfather, who served in WWII, with instilling the inspiration to study our military history.  In fourth grade Brian did a book report on Pearl Harbor, which he still has, and is testament to his avid interest in military history.

A trip to Normandy in 2004, the 60th anniversary of the invasion on its beaches, was the starting point of his collection of wartime memorabilia.  Three years ago his Veterans Memorial Museum, located at 1129 Wabash Avenue, opened to the public.  It took him about one year to prepare his collection for the museum. Since then, donations of memorabilia have increased his museum pieces which cover WWI, WWII, Korean, Vietnam, Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Brian plans to be involved with a proposed, new Military Museum that will be located on the site of the present Indiana State University Memorial Stadium, which was built to WWI veterans

Brian Mundell graduated from North High School and from Indiana State University with a degree in Finance in ’91.  He has one son and two daughters. He currently owns Superior Kitchen and Bath and has been in that business for 20 years.  He is now 46 and has worked on his own, prior to opening the business.

Special Note: Private Tour of Brian's Military Museum scheduled for the WVGS members on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.

Since Brian volunteers his time and efforts to his non-profit hobby, donations of picture frames of all sizes, display cases, mannequins and styrofoam heads, plastic totes, cleaning supplies and, of course, military memorabilia will be welcome.  Contact him at 812-208-1396.
